RESTANQUE:

n.m., a word borrowed from Provençal restanco, from the Latin family stare (to stay, to remain). In French regions of Provence and Ardèche (attested since 1685), it refers to a dry stone wall that supports a cultivated terrace and by metonymy, to terrace itself.
